First Exhibition sponsored by the John Preston Trust

Alina Litvinova, an awardee from our first funding round in February 2024, organised an exhibition of refugee artists which opened last night at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall in Dalmeny Street, Leith.

Painted Eggs by Natalia Yanishevska

It was a huge honour to attend the opening of Alina’s exhibition entitled “Studio” on Tuesday 26th November. Using her grant from the trust, Alina has sponsored 9 artists from the refugee community to re-imagine their studio and display their work. The quality was fantastic, with work ranging from the avant-garde to traditional Ukrainian pysanka egg decoration. Please follow the links below to see the work of the artists in the exhibition. If you can get along to see the work you are in for a great treat!
