The John Preston Trust

The John Preston Trust was set up in 2022 in memory of the late John Preston, a major figure in the UK music industry.

Formerly Chairman of BMG Records, John was also a former Chairman of the BPI, the national representative body for the UK recorded music industry. Throughout his career John was committed to supporting young talent, whether artists, musicians, songwriters or young business executives.

Aims

The John Preston Trust aims to encourage and nurture young people, keen to learn and develop their potential in the creative arts.

Trustees

The John Preston Trust is managed by a small group of trustees who meet periodically to consider applications and make decisions on awarding grants.

How to Apply

If you are aged between 16 and 30 years, residing in Edinburgh and the Lothians region of Scotland and involved in the fields of Music and Visual Arts, you can apply online here, but please read our funding guidelines first.
